Foodservice Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound Hungry Planet Italian Sausage™Buy Now
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • ½ cup vegan mozzarella
  • 1 pound tomato sauce or marinara
  • 6 tablespoons vegan parmesan cheese

Instructions:

  • Step 1.

    Preheat oven to 450°F. Form 1 pound Hungry Planet Italian Sausage™ into 12 equal meatballs. Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil to a skillet and heat. Place the formed meatballs into the hot skillet and saute until golden. Keep warm.

  • Step 2.

    Brush remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil inside hollowed hoagie buns. Fill bottom of bun with ½ cup vegan mozzarella* and place buns open-faced on baking sheet.

  • Step 3.

    Bake hoagie rolls at 450°F until cheese melts. Fill buns with hot tomato sauce, top with meatballs, top subs with more sauce and sprinkle with grated 6 tablespoons vegan parmesan cheese.

  • Step 4.

    Serve with your favorite Italian salad.
