Chicken Tikka Masala Meatballs

Foodservice Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1½ teaspoons onions, minced
  • ½ teaspoon garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup canola oil
  • 1 pound Hungry Planet Chicken™ Plant-Based GroundBuy Now
  • ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garam masala seasoning
  • 4 tablespoons plain soy yogurt*
  • ¾ teaspoon cilantro, chopped
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • 2⅔ tablespoons canola oil
  • 16 ounce jar tikka masala sauce
  • * Please use whatever products you have in your kitchen; vegan ingredients are just what we have in ours.

Instructions:

  • Step 1.

    Saute the onions and garlic in ¼ cup canola oil until golden. Chill completely.

  • Step 2.

    In a large bowl combine the chilled sauteed onion and garlic mixture with Hungry Planet Chicken™, ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper, ½ teaspoon garam masala seasoning, 4 tablespoons plain soy yogurt, ¾ teaspoon cilantro, and ¾ teaspoon salt. Mix well. Allow to marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.

  • Step 3.

    After 1 hour, roll the chicken mixture into 1-ounce balls.

  • Step 4.

    Heat 2⅔ tablespoons canola oil in a skillet and fry Hungry Planet Chicken™ meatballs until golden on all sides. Add to the tikka masala sauce and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes.

  • Step 5.

    Serve with rice and sliced bell peppers.
