Foodservice Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups onions
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 12 ounce Hungry Planet Beef™ Plant-Based GroundBuy Now
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1¼ teaspoons black pepper
  • 1¼ teaspoon doenjang
  • 2½ teaspoons ketchup
  • ⅓ cup vegan mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoon canola oil
  • 4 slices vegan cheddar cheese
  • 4 burger buns
  • ¼ cup pickles (cucumber, dill or kosher dill), sliced thin

Instructions:

  • Step 1.

    Saute 2 cups of onions in 2 teaspoons of olive oil over medium-high heat, stirring frequently until onions are dark, about 15 minutes. Season with kosher salt.

  • Step 2.

    Combine the 12 ounce Hungry Planet Beef™ and caramelized onions in a large bowl. Season with salt and black pepper. Form into 4 equal patties.

  • Step 3.

    Prepare the secret sauce, puree 1¼ teaspoon of doenjang with 1 1/2 tsp ketchup until smooth. Add the remaining 1 1/2 teaspoons of ketchup and ⅓ cup of mayonnaise, then puree until smooth and blended.

  • Step 4.

    Sear patties in hot oil for 2 minutes. Turn over, top with cheese and sear for 2 minutes.

  • Step 5.

    Toast 4 buns and spread with secret sauce. Place pickle slices on bottom. Top with burger, tomato and bun.
