Foodservice Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb Hungry Planet Italian Sausage™
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 2 tsp Raw Garlic
  • ⅓ cup Raw Onions (chopped)
  • 1 ½ tbsp Dried Oregano
  • 1 ¼ cup Canned Puree Tomatoes
  • 2 tsp Fennel Seed
  • ⅓ cup Vegetable Broth
  • ¼ tsp Kosher Salt
  • Pinch Black Pepper
  • 1 ⅓ lb Cooked Pasta (salted)
  • 2 tsp Basil (chopped)
  • ⅓ cup Vegan Parmesan Cheese

Hungry Planet Italian Sausage™

Instructions:

  • Step 1.

    In a suitable size sauce pot, heat the 2 tbsp oil to smoking. Add the 1 lb Hungry Planet Italian Sausage™ and saute for 5-6 minutes. Stir and scrape the bottom frequently.

  • Step 2.

    Add 2 tsp garlic, ⅓ cup onion, and 1 ½ tbsp oregano and saute for 5 minutes.

  • Step 3.

    Add 1 ¼ cup tomato puree, 2 tsp fennel, ⅓ cup vegetable broth, salt, and pepper. Simmer slowly for 30 minutes.

  • Step 4.

    Toss 1 ⅓ lb noodles with sauce and 2 tsp basil. Put pasta in a baking dish. Top with ⅓ cup vegan parmesan, cover and bake 30 minutes at 350°F. Remove cover and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
