Foodservice Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 16 ounce Hungry Planet Beef™ Plant-Based GroundBuy Now
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons raw garlic
  • ⅓ cup raw onions, chopped
  • 1½ tablespoons dried oregano
  • 1¼ cups canned puree tomatoes
  • 2 teaspoons fennel seed
  • ⅓ cup vegetable broth
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper
  • 1⅓ pound cooked pasta, salted
  • 2 teaspoons basil, chopped
  • ⅓ cup vegan parmesan cheese

Instructions:

  • Step 1.

    In a suitable size saucepot, heat the 2 tablespoons of oil to smoking. Add 16 ounce Hungry Planet Beef™ and saute for 5 to 6 minutes. Stir and scrape the bottom frequently.

  • Step 2.

    Add 2 teaspoons garlic, ⅓ cup onion, and 1½ tablespoons oregano and saute for 5 minutes.

  • Step 3.

    Add 1¼ cups tomato puree, 2 teaspoons fennel seed, ⅓ cup vegetable broth, salt, and pepper. Simmer slowly for 30 minutes.

  • Step 4.

    Toss 1⅓ pound noodles with sauce and 2 teaspoons of basil. Put pasta in a baking dish. Top with ⅓ cup of vegan parmesan, cover, and bake 30 minutes at 350°F. Remove cover and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
