Foodservice Recipe

  • 1 lb Hungry Planet Pork™Buy Now
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 1/2 tbsp plant-based Worcestershire sauce*
  • 1/2 tbsp granulated garlic
  • 2 tbsp Sweet and Smoky dry rub
  • 1/4 tsp salt and pepper (each)
  • 2/3 cup barbecue sauce
  • 5 hoagie rolls
  • 1/2 cup dill pickles, sliced
  • 1/2 cup onions, sliced
  • * Please use whatever products you have in your kitchen; plant-based ingredients are just what we have in ours.

  • Step 1.

Prep meat by mixing with extra virgin olive oil, plant-based Worcestershire sauce, granulated garlic, sweet & smoky rub, kosher salt and black pepper

  • Step 2.

Form into 4 oz oval patties. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight. Cooking the meat using one of the following methods. 1. Bake on parchment paper at 400°F for 8-10 minutes. (This way is our favorite.) 2. Pan-fry over medium-high heat in an oiled non-stick pan. 2-3 minutes each side. 3. Grill over direct heat. 2-3 minutes each side.

  • Step 3.

After your meat is cooked, brush each side with 1 tablespoon barbecue sauce and allow to sit for 2 minutes. You could also do either of these ways instead 1. Brush each side with 1 tablespoon barbecue sauce and pan-fry for 15 seconds each side. 2. Brush each side with 1 tablespoon barbecue sauce and grill until lightly charred on each side.

  • Step 4.

Lastly, toast the buns and assemble the sandwiches by placing a boneless rib on the bottom bun followed by 4 pickle slices and 6-8 onion slices. Top with the other half of the bun and enjoy!
