Foodservice Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • ½ cup onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, chopped
  • 8 ounce Hungry Planet Beef™ Plant-Based GroundBuy Now
  • 1 package dry taco seasoning mix, low sodium
  • ½ cup water
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1 cup vegan pepper jack cheese
  • Red taco sauce, to taste
  • Romaine lettuce, shredded
  • 1 cup guacamole
  • 1/4 cup fried onions
  • * Please use whatever products you have in your kitchen; vegan ingredients are just what we have in ours.

Instructions:

  • Step 1.

    In a medium skillet add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Turn heat to medium. Add the ½ cup onion and 1 tablespoon chopped garlic. Saute until onions are translucent.

  • Step 2.

    Increase heat to medium-high and add 8 ounces of Hungry Planet Beef™. Brown the meat, 8 to 10 minutes.

  • Step 3.

    When beef is browned, add 1 package of dry taco seasoning mix and ½ cup water. Blend well. Simmer on low for 2 to 3 minutes or until liquid is absorbed.

  • Step 4.

    Build the Taco Burger: Toast the 4 hamburger buns. Portion salsa on bun and top with shredded lettuce. Portion the Hungry Planet Beef™ taco meat on one side of the bun and top with pepper jack cheese. Top with guacamole, fried onions, and then bun.
